How it started
This initiative came out of the Business Consultancy team and has since grown into a programme of more than 20 internal and 50 external training courses that colleagues can take. Behind it sits a wealth of documentation on relevant topics in digital transformation, from agile to design thinking and from change management to business analysis. Colleagues who have built up expertise in a particular field give training during digital lunch sessions for interested colleagues. Last year, for example, no fewer than 17 internal training sessions were organised. The Harmony School team, made up of Business Consultancy colleagues, coordinates and develops the training programme.
Top Athletes
One of the main goals of the Business Consultancy unit is to build a team of #TopAthletes. Harmony School is one of the initiatives that contributes directly to that goal. At the start of this year, Harmony School's mission was sharpened further during a purpose or OKR exercise. The mission of Harmony School is described as follows:
- Centralising and sharing knowledge.
- Encouraging employees in their personal growth by letting them discover different specialisation options.
- Making sure every Harmony consultant has a certain set of fundamental skills, to safeguard quality.
Over the past few months, the Harmony School team has worked hard on developing this fundamental set of skills and identifying training needs, so they can offer the right training in a more targeted way. That brings us ever closer to a team of #TopAthletes.
Never not learning
The Harmony School team is always looking for ways to improve. For example, they ran a survey among all Harmonians to evaluate their experience with Harmony School, which produced a number of action points. They are also working on a new way to present these training courses clearly to Harmonians. Together with our OutSystems colleagues, we want to build a new platform that shows all training courses in a clear overview, with an offering that matches the training needs of our colleagues.
With Harmony School, we help Harmonians with their personal development, so they can improve their hard and soft skills and grow as people.
